A Delegation from the Consulate General of Hungary in Guangzhou Visited QNU

On the morning of April 29, a delegation led by Peter Varfi, Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Guangzhou, paid a visit to our university. Chen Changping, President of QNU, and Huang Jiangkun, Vice President, met with the guests.

Chen Changping extended a warm welcome to Peter Varfi and his delegation. He introduced an overview of Quanzhou City, as well as the university’s development in school educational endeavors and international cooperation and exchanges. He expressed the hope that with the support of the Consul General, QNU would actively promote friendly exchanges with Hungarian universities and carry out in-depth cooperation in joint school-running, talent cultivation, teacher-student exchanges, scientific research and other fields. Peter Varfi introduced the work of the Consulate General of Hungary in Guangzhou and the higher education situation in Hungary. He stated that the consulate would actively act as a bridge for all-round exchanges and cooperation between universities in Hungary and Fujian Province, and promote in-depth cooperation between QNU and well-established Hungarian universities with strong academic foundations, such as the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, in areas like talent cultivation and academic exchanges.

After the meeting, accompanied by QNU leaders and representatives from relevant departments, the delegation visited the School of Fine Arts and Design and viewed the exhibition of teachers’ and students’ works. They also visited the School of Literature and Communication, where they watched a live calligraphy demonstration by teachers and experienced traditional tea culture and tea art.
