On the afternoon of December 12, the launch ceremony for QNU’s "Sports Campus" was held in front of RongmaoComplex Building.
Distinguished attendees included Dong Jinsong, Deputy Director of Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports; Su Dexin, Director of Mass Sports Department of Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports; Wang Shuiyong, Director of Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Sports; Ke Ruiqing, Party Secretary of QNU; Chen Changping, President of QNU; Lin Wei and Chen Xiaofeng, Deputy Party Secretary of QNU; Huang Jiangkun and Xiahou Jianbing, Vice President of QNU; and Chen Mingsen, Secretary of QNU Committee for Discipline Inspection. The event brought together over 1,500 participants, including Han Chengkai, a world badminton champion and teacher at QNU, as well as representatives of faculty and students of the university.
At the ceremony, Chen Changping delivered a speech on behalf of the university. Later, Dong Jinsong, Su Dexin, Wang Shuiyong, Ke Ruiqing, Chen Changping, and Han Chengkai together pressed the start button to officially launch the "Sports Campus."
After the ceremony, invited guests, university leaders, the world champion, and student representatives were divided into three contingents. They started the campus-circling run. More than 1,000 teachers and students shared the joy of sports together and showcased the excitement of athletics.
Subsequently, as part of the "Sports Campus"activities, the Badminton Invitation was held at Mingde Gymnasium. Dong Jinsong, Chen Changping, Xiahou Jianbing, Han Chengkai and others took turns to play badminton with students. The "Fluorescent Walking" event — part of the "One School, One Feature" program of the School of Physical Education — was also held at the No. 2 Athletic Field in the evening.
